AIS has the ability to provide new or used parts and equipment and the capacity
to repair, calibrate and certify the aircraft owners equipment which positions AIS
as a full service one stop supplier. The AIS family of companies' strength is best

Andy Johnson is the original founder and current majority owner of the four companies.
Mike Sutphin, Vice President and General Manager, holds the minority share of the
companies and is responsible for day to day operations and business development.
The history of the three companies started with the opening of a distribution business
in 1984 located in Addison Texas. During the next few years the distribution business
was expanded to include an instrument repair facility in the FAA Class I, II, III
and full Class IV, including accessories categories. Further expansion into a full
service calibration shop, the sales of used avionics, and the manufacturing and
development of test equipment and lighting accessories expanded the company to its
current status.
During the past twenty years in the industry, the core companies have built a team
of highly experienced FAA certified technicians and an excellent management team.
The company holds an excellent reputation in the industry and is considered one
of the top three suppliers nation wide in the avionics market place. AIS fulfills
the customer's one-stop-shop need with both inside and outside sales people and
technicians trained to be the customers' single point of contact and support.
The AIS family of companies' currently services customers across the spectrum from
Major Airlines to General Aviation with a focus toward Corporate Aviation & General
Aviation. Major airline customers include Northwest Airlines, UPS, Continental Airlines,
American Eagle, Frontier, USAir and others. The core business for AIS is with general
aviation repair facilities, Fixed Based Operations (FBOs) and corporate customers
such as Frito Lay, Honeywell and Boise Cascade Corporation. In addition, sales to
Government entities such as the Department of the Navy, the U.S. Border Patrol and
Army National Guard demonstrate the variety in our customer base. The company also
supports many key OEMs such as Raytheon Aerospace, Gulfstream, Beechcraft, Cessna,
Eclipse, Embraer and Learjet.
